Flexographic Print Operator

Your main purpose is:
Producing high quality flexible packaging using multiple processes, and meeting customer specifications following strict quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
1. Safety must always be a prime consideration and you are required to ensure that the safety of people, the environment and our products are never compromised.
2. Setting up and printing high quality designs up to 8 colours onto Flexible plastic substrates and paper.
3. Maintain a high level of quality, accuracy, and productivity to make sure efficient day to day running of wide web flexographic printing press.
4. Ensure that press speeds are optimised, maximising uptime and minimising downtime. Continually checking on safe and efficient operation.
5. Following an appropriate trouble shooting activity escalate maintenance issues.
6. Pro-active approach so the print machine always runs smoothly; observe the process and spot any issues that may arise, assess, evaluate root cause and use problem-solving skills to correct and rectify.
7. Report issues to the Quality department that may affect output throughout the shift.
8. Maintain good housekeeping on the press and surrounding areas – 5S auditing.
9. Maintain stock levels of all necessary materials to fulfil the shift efficiently.
10. Dealing with solvent-based inks.
11. Have the experience and knowledge to provide support and training to any new starters or personnel.
12. Responsible for basic maintenance and cleaning of print machinery.
13. Comprehensive handover carried out after every shift.
Additional Experience
1. Previous experience of flexographic print minimum of 3-5 years.
2. Knowledge of Lamination and Slitting processes.
3. Experience of mounting process.
4. Follow BRC Code of Practice.
5. Good attention to detail and an ability to problem solve and work on own initiative.
6. Must be able to work as part of a team.
7. Manage and deal with change in a fast moving and demanding environment whilst still maintaining standards set within the business.
8. Contribute to the continuous improvement activity.
Working Hours
48 hours of work per week.
