Job summary To assist the Catering Manager in the proactive management of a large workforce to support the continuity of catering services To ensure that all services within area of responsibility are delivered to the high standard required. To contribute to the review and evaluation of all operational systems and procedures to support improvements and developments within the catering department, including supporting departmental project work as directed. Main duties of the job Communicate and liaise with a varied range of Trust staff with regards to catering operational standards and service delivery. Provide, receive and communicate a range of information, e.g. redeployment, grading, appeals, disciplinary. Attend weekly Catering Department Managers meetings to discuss and assist in the provision of management reports relating to payroll, service delivery, staffing capacity. Communicate and liaise with the Business Support Team and Head of Catering to adhere to agreed budget settings. Communicate with catering staff and ensure training and development is compliant Meet and liaise with Catering Supervisors to communicate key information to support service delivery and compliance. Support the supervisors to develop the creation of departmental rotas. Assist the department in any operational and service improvement projects as directed. This may include collating of information and producing options appraisals. Financial Responsibilities. Signatory for additional rechargeable services provided to internal and external users with regards to Catering Services. Assist the Catering Manager in the completion of financial and operational reports with regard to staffing expenditure and materials management.
