Do you want to make a difference for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families?
Birmingham’s SEND services have been growing as part of the council’s long-term commitment to children, young people and their families. More than 150 permanent roles have been created in the SENAR Service and we’re looking for motivated people to join our teams and make a meaningful impact in this priority area.
Our SEND Assistant Case Officers work closely with our Case Officers who are named officers for children and young people with an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan. Working within the legislative framework of the Children and Families Act 2014, you will provide a high standard of administrative support and accurate data entry whilst developing your knowledge of SEND. You will have experience of managing communication with young people, parent carers and professionals, including schools and settings, relaying accurate information and explaining processes.
As a member of a team, you will be open to supporting colleagues with additional tasks and keen to participate in professional development opportunities to further your SEND career.
