The post-holder will work within three areas relating to Electronic Assistive Technology (EAT): people with severe physical disabilities who may need Environmental Control (EC) or computer access and people with communication and language difficulties who may need Alternative & Augmentative Communication (AAC) The post holder will: Have a good standard of education to GCSE level, including Maths and English Have aHNC Electronics or Engineering (or equivalent) or relevant experience. We are looking for a highly driven Technician who is enthusiastic and motivated to work with us Main duties of the job The post will be working in the ACT Technical Service, a team of technical staff that support the clinical team in delivering solutions to clients. The post holder will report to the Senior Technician for their daily duties however the post holder will be expected to manage their own workload. The primary role for this post is to configure and install new equipment, repair existing equipment, mounting devices to wheelchairs and perform the annual maintenance including statutory electrical PAT testing, generally in domiciliary settings throughout the West Midlands (ie patient's homes). There will also be a requirement to deliver/collect equipment as well as occasional development of new devices and/or solutions.
