We are looking for an Experienced Facilities Assistant to support a healthcare client within the Wigan area. This role will be an initial 3-month contract working 30 hours per week across Monday to Friday, paying an hourly rate of £15.55. This role is to provide support to the Facilities Manager in all aspects of facilities management and to ensure that health and safety compliance is maintained to the relevant standards.
What you will be doing as a Facilities Assistant?
1. Co-ordinate and collate annual risk assessments on property equipment and activities.
2. Monitor fire risk assessments compliance across all sites.
3. Liaise with relevant departments on health and safety issues, providing support where necessary.
4. Ensure all appropriate materials are stored in accordance with COSHH regulations.
5. Report accidents and incidents as required under RIDDOR regulations.
6. Ensure that services are delivered on time and in line with contract requirements.
7. Maintain records of service visits and outcomes, bringing any additional action required to the attention of the facilities manager.
8. Order supplies.
9. Act as a point of contact for volunteers involved with service delivery (e.g., PAT testing, water temperature testing, preparation of meeting rooms, ad hoc supplies procurement, logistical support to hospice departments).
10. Investigate equipment faults and take remedial action.
11. Participate in the on-call rota and attend the emergency call outs to the hospice and shops outside of normal working hours when called upon to do so.
Will need to go through a Standard DBS.

1. Facilities Management Experience.
2. COSHH Handling.
3. An understanding of current health and safety legislation, guidance and best practice.
4. Ability to manage time effectively to be self-motivated and able to organise own workload to meet deadlines.
5. Good communication skills, verbal and written.
6. Competent using different IT systems.
