The Controls Organization is responsible, in partnership with the business, to define and oversee the CIB’s risk and control environment. With a key emphasis on ensuring the end-to-end control framework supports robust governance and systems that identify, quantify, manage and monitor risk at the appropriate level through the establishment of risk management tools and procedures in consultation with Corporate Investment Bank and Firmwide partners. The Corporate & Investment Bank Digital, Data & Artificial Intelligence Control Manager, in partnership with Businesses and functions, will deliver the controls strategy for the Corporate & Investment Bank through the creation of a robust governance framework underpinned by metrics and reporting aimed at standardizing the management of risk identification and control requirements with a strong control focus. The role will provide a single point of contact for first-line risk and control advisory and execution as well as the management of regulatory exams, compliance testing and audits. The successful candidate will leverage sophisticated process design solutions to develop and drive the execution of the Digital, Data & Artificial Intelligence controls strategy across the Corporate Investment Bank and assume responsibility for control management across four pillars; Risk Identification & Assessment, Control Design & Evaluation, Issues & Control Deficiencies and Control Governance & Reporting, leveraging firmwide tools. This role requires executive level collaboration and leadership with particular attention to the Business as well as Firmwide partners. Job Responsibilities: Operational Readiness: Partnering with technology and testing teams to support frameworks for operational ‘go live readiness’ which will include the assessment of business as usual processes, monitoring and reporting on progress, the development of automated dashboards and threshold triggers, and the review of digital testing strategies. Risk Scanning: You will be accountable for active risk identification, assessment and sizing utilizing both qualitative and quantitative methodologies for lending businesses. This will include proactive horizon scanning and the development of risk appetite ‘lessons learned’ from internal and external events. Risk and Controls Self-Assessment: Performing risk and control self-assessments across all lending products and digital journeys and also for those journeys and processes impacted by the lending businesses. You will utilise your knowledge of regulatory obligations, the market and operational risk to identify existing or potential control gaps and weaknesses to drive continuous improvement and the development of control testing strategies. Issue and Event Management: Partnering with the business you will support and manage operational risk events (including losses, potential losses or production incidents) and operational risk issues. You will perform root cause analysis, document issues, develop robust and traceable action plans, track and program manage the delivery of actions, and test closure of issues to ensure root causes are fully addressed. Regulatory Engagement: You will manage and co-ordinate regulatory engagement from a 1st line perspective for the Lending business, including acting as the single point of contact for regulatory requests, exams and meetings. Advice and Partnership: You will Partner effectively with colleagues across the firm, to drive consistent and rigorous operational risk practices and control programs including; Control Committees, risk mitigation, key risk indicators, control design, and performance evaluation. Leadership: As an Executive Director you will lead by example, ensuring integrity of the control environment, and acting as a world-class manager who drives a culture of inclusion, empowerment and growth. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills: Financial services experience, ideally within corporate and investment banking with team management experience Expert in Operational Risk Management within Financial Services industry, with a strong understanding of Operational Risk Management Regulatory Frameworks and their application. Demonstrated experience across conducting Risk and Control Self-Assessment, Review and Management of Operational Risk Issues, experience with new product launches and/or product change. Additional Qualifications Experience working and efficiently delivering in an information technology area / environment is a plus (e.g. IT Auditing, Programming Controls, Data Management and Governance etc) with strong understanding of Data and Analytics Excellent communication, relationship building and influencing skills; including written and oral communication skills with the ability to present information in differing degrees of details and form depending on audience. Ability to work within a digital first environment, including comfortable with new technologies and frameworks, agile methodologies, reviewing data, analytics and technology architecture Flexibility and ability to partner with other team members across global time zones. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
