The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineer to support research into product compliance. A key part of this role involves monitoring EU Directives, regulations, the EU Official Journal, and UK Government websites. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented candidate with an interest in manufacturing and European law and strong reporting skills. You will collaborate with engineers across various teams and locations, ensuring all legislative requirements are met, product documentation is complete and up-to-date, and technical queries from customers are addressed. In the future, this role may include training to become an internal auditor, conducting audits under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards. Key Responsibilities • Monitor and analyse EU and UK regulations, directives, and standards for compliance. • Ensure product documentation is accurate, legally sound, and up-to-date. • Collaborate with engineering teams and subsidiaries to maintain compliance. • Respond to technical customer queries regarding compliance-related matters. • Write detailed and clear technical reports. • Potentially train as an internal auditor for ISO standards. Required Qualifications and Skills: • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering, or a related field in law or sustainability. • Strong experience in report writing. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. • Ability to travel occasionally within Europe. • A curious mindset and eagerness to learn and study. Desirable Skills (Not Essential): • Experience working with standards, regulations, and directives. • Familiarity with manufacturing environments. • Previous collaboration with test houses or notified bodies. • Internal auditing experience. • Proficiency in a European or Japanese language.
