Clinical Support Worker / Echo Assistant - Cardiac Physiology

A vacancy has arisen for a Band 2 Clinical Support Worker / Echocardiography Assistant within Cardiothoracic Services at C&VUHB.
This post is fixed term/secondment for 6 months due to funding. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
Main duties of the job
The Cardiac Physiology Department is a vibrant and busy department providing tertiary services to South Wales.
We offer a dynamic, friendly working environment, full training and induction programme and an individual personal development plan to guide your development within the role.
There is a strong emphasis on both professional and service development within the Cardiothoracic Directorate, with opportunities to gain skills and qualifications in our non-invasive services.
The successful applicant will be expected to work at the University Hospital of Wales.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Four GCSE's Grades A-D which must include English
* NVQ level 2/3 in a healthcare related subject or equivalent
Experience
* Experience of working / dealing with the general public
* Clerical / admin experience
* Competent use of computers
Skills
* Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise
Specialist Knowledge
* Knowledge of hospital patient management or similar IT system
* Understanding of Data Protection and confidentiality
Personal Qualities
* Effective interpersonal skills.
* Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and independently
* Friendly & approachable manner
* Ability to work calmly under pressure
