Job summary
: the post holder is expected to:
1. be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Hospice at Home service.
2. The role involves communication with staff, families, and Multidisciplinary Professionals in arranging care packages for patients and liaison with Continuing Healthcare staff regarding availability issues. In the absence of the Clinical Services Team Leader the post holder may be required to agree adjustments to packages of care already in place.
3. work as part of a team but occasionally alone when required, providing telephone and office cover.

Job responsibilities
Key tasks and duties:
ADMINISTRATIVE
14. Day-to-day administration of the Hospice at Home service, including notification of the package of care arranged with the patient/carer/health professional(s).
15. Maintaining accurate records of Continuing Healthcare packages and invoicing monthly.
16. Dealing with queries relating to rotas, timesheets, mileage claims, mobile device issues in conjunction with Admin and annual leave requests.
17. Arranging cover within the Hospice at Home service from the bank of ad-hoc staff.
18. Answering the telephone, taking messages, and dealing as appropriate in close liaison with the Team Leader and Staff Nurses, ensuring all information is relayed in a timely manner.
19. Providing clerical support to the Hospice at Home service typing letters, photocopying, filing. Producing and circulating documents as requested.
20. Inputting patient information on to EMIS, maintaining accurate records and respecting patient confidentiality at all times. Compiling monthly analytical data for internal and external reports.
21. Collation of staff time sheets and mileage claims ensuring accuracy and meeting payroll deadlines.
22. Contribute to the processes of PPE stock and clinical uniform ordering.
23. Preparation of duty rota advising the Clinical Services Team Leader of any issues.
24. Organisation and attendance at clinical meetings. Taking and preparation of minutes as required including CG meetings and Managers meetings according to the rota.
25. Undertaking audits as delegated by the Team Leader or Clinical Services Manager.
26. Providing support to other departments when required.
CARE QUALITY COMMISSION
27. Assisting with preparation of documents required by the CQC (Care Quality Commission).
COMMUNICATION
28. Assisting with enquiries relating to the Hospice at Home service.
29. Promotion of the service to prospective users in a professional manner.

30. To always act in accordance with the hospice policies and procedures of Rossendale Hospice
31. At all times act as an ambassador for Rossendale Hospice to patients, relatives, carers, colleagues, and members of the public.
32. Engage in lifelong learning and attend any training as suggested by line manager.
33. Participate in 1-1's and annual appraisal.
34. Attend and undertake all mandatory training as instructed.
Health and safety
35. Understands the fire regulations and action to be taken in the event of a fire.
36. Report any incidents/adverse events in accordance with Rossendale Hospice policy.
37. Understand the principles of infection control and hand hygiene.
38. Have an understanding of the Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults policy.
39. Take all measures to ensure that the safely of staff, patients, volunteers, supporters, customers, and visitors to Rossendale Hospice in accordance with the Rossendale Hospice Health and Safety Policy.
