Serco are recruiting for a Technical Superintendent to join our team based in Portsmouth on a fixed term contract for 6 months. Serco is carrying out a Transformation from the current CPMS contract to the DMS-NG contract. As part of this, the approach to Engineering (vessel maintenance, repair, and overhaul) requires development and modernisation, coupled with the development and implementation of a new asset and maintenance management system in SEAMS. The Engineering workstream of the Transformation programme includes a review and refresh of the processes and data held within the existing management system to form the basis of the new maintenance system within SEAMS. A key priority of the role will be to assist in adapting and migrating current maintenance data into the new SEAMS environment and then implementation of new processes and procedures. To achieve this an opportunity has been created for a suitably qualified and experienced marine engineer with PMS experience to lend their expertise to the project for a minimum 6-month term. This role will support the development & implementation of Engineering approaches and associated asset management systems for the future delivery of maintenance, repair, and overhaul in the DMS-NG contract and will provide support for transition of these functions into a new integrated engineering management system (SEAMS). Within this role you will: Form part of the DMS-NG Engineering Transformation Team, reporting into the Project Manager, providing strategic direction and support. Work alongside other Transformation workstreams and Port Technical Teams, also liaising with Data Architects and external Developers when required. Be a subject matter expert for vessel engineering operations including planned maintenance, surveys, dockings, and refits. What you’ll need to do the role: Experience in maritime asset management and in using maritime planned maintenance systems. Marine Engineering background and knowledge of Serco vessels (or similar) from an Engineering perspective. Interaction with Planned Maintenance Systems, and knowledge of current Marine Engineering and compliance best practice. Excellent Communication skills, written and verbal, being able to confidently present complex technical information, using suitable language for different audiences. Collaborative mindset, with a desire to understand different points of view to develop optimal positions. Excellent Organisational and IT skills.
