Position: Quantity Surveyor
Client: Groundworks, Frames, and Civil Engineering Contractor
Project: £100m data centre in Hayes

Salary: £50,000 - £70,000
B&B Construction Recruitment is delighted to be working with one of our leading UK-based construction companies specialising in complex structural alterations, concrete structures, refurbishment, new build, and infrastructure projects. The organisation comprises seven divisions covering subcontracting, main contracting on projects up to £25 million, rail and infrastructure, and European data centres. In recent years, the company expanded its services by establishing a Fire Protection Division, offering specialised passive fire protection services to clients such as Mace, ISG, Skanska, Balfour Beatty, and Sir Robert McAlpine.
The group offers a comprehensive range of services, including:
* Structural Alterations: Expertise in modifying existing structures to meet new design requirements.
* Concrete Structures: Construction of robust concrete frameworks for various building types.
* Refurbishment: Renovation and modernization of existing buildings to enhance functionality and aesthetics.
* New Build: Development of new construction projects from inception to completion.
* Infrastructure Projects: Execution of essential infrastructure works supporting urban development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the cost control and financial performance of the project
* Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
* Procure subcontractors, review tender submissions, and negotiate contract terms
* Monitor project progress, ensuring that costs align with project milestones and work completed
* Provide accurate and timely cost reporting to senior management, stakeholders, and clients
* Administer variations, contract changes, and ensure proper documentation and agreement
* Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
* Work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to resolve any financial issues or queries
* Conduct site visits to assess work progress and ensure quality control
What We Are Looking For:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the construction or civil engineering sectors
* Solid understanding of JCT and NEC contracts, with a focus on managing variations and claims
* Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
* Experience with project cost control, budgets, and financial reporting
* A degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred
