We currently have a vacancy for a Warehouse Team Leader to join our busy team based in Castleford. The successful applicant will join us on a full-time, permanent basis and will receive training in order to become a key member of our Castleford Warehouse team.
Responsibilities:
1. Loading and unloading of third party or Unisurge vehicles / containers compliantly and in the most efficient manner, ensuring all paperwork and load checks have been completed.
2. Brief the warehouse team daily on expectations and requirements of the day and week ahead.
3. Organise the warehouse team to ensure all daily tasks are completed in a timely and efficient fashion.
4. Place goods received into appropriate storage areas within agreed timeframes following Standard Operating procedures (SOP). Ensure all forms and relevant paperwork are completed in accordance with Unisurge GDP requirements.
5. Accurately pick raw materials and finished goods in accordance with ‘Picking Sheets’ provided by office staff.
6. Ensure stock accuracy is always maintained.
7. Complete relevant checks on forklift trucks and pallet trucks prior to use (if trained and authorised to use). Ensure all electric forklift and pallet trucks are charged ready for use each day / shift.
8. Always maintain good housekeeping in the warehouse, including use of the baler and other cleaning equipment.
9. Maintain general tidiness and care within the warehouse including that of forklifts and machinery and ensure any accidents, incidents or near misses are reported to senior management.
10. Help in the enforcement of all RA and QA regulations applicable to the warehouse.
11. Help in the enforcement of all Health and Safety regulations and Unisurge specific instructions for the warehouse.
12. Wear the appropriate PPE when in the warehouse.
13. Ensure site is always secure.
14. Deliver services effectively, a degree of flexibility is needed, and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to in the above but as directed by line managers.
Principal Relationships:
1. Accountable to – Site Supervisor (Nights) / Operations Manager
2. Responsible for – Warehouse Operatives
3. Internal - Works closely with office staff and team members in the warehouse.
4. External – Delivery drivers, agency workers.
Education and Experience:
1. Educated to GCSE Grade C or above in Mathematics and English
2. Proven experience within a warehouse environment
3. Knowledge of EH&S requirements and legislation
4. Forklift Truck licence
5. Fluent in speaking English
6. Computer literate

Monday to Thursday, 21:30 - 08:00
