Job Description
The role reports to the Sales Director for UK & Ireland Ready Meals & Fresh Meat.
As Key Account Manager you will have close interaction with other Key Account Managers, Retail and Business Support teams in the UK and also liaise with Group teams including ESG, External Affairs and MarCom. Therefore, consistent and clear dialogue with all key stakeholders is imperative to allow you to expand the company message through building diverse working relationships. You will be managing existing accounts driving new business, therefore have a very close and collaborative relationship with the Key Account Managers and Sales Director responsible for the customers. To this end you will be required to have a high degree of resilience and fortitude to face head on the challenges that the role will bring. You will ensure the smooth running of projects and you will provide clear, unquestionable communication to the teams. As an integral member of the team, you will need to lead by example, working closely with key stakeholders across all areas.
External
* Grow sales & profit by expanding product range, upselling where possible
* Work collaboratively with the business to convert Sales strategy into new business or business growth
* Understanding the opportunities within the market place now and in the future
* Work within the parameters of business capability, adhering to lead times, production constraints
* Develop a collaborative working relationship with internal stakeholders
* Responsible for managing a portfolio of existing customers, both commercially and via NPD
* Presenting sales documentation on a monthly basis to an agreed format and timescale
* To develop customer relations through frequent meetings and face to face time
* To drive margin improvement through entire portfolio
* Ensure all business has a benefit to the company and is profitable to manufacture
* Work closely with the customer and deal with any issues effectively & confidently reaching a mutually agreeable solution for the customer, operations/production and the business
* Work within the parameters set out by the company
* Effectively challenge customer ideas whilst providing alternative solutions that fit with company capability and customer need
* Align with customers & retailers' sustainability goals, deliver Faerch's circularity message, and influence decision-making.
* Stay updated on market trends, including circularity, carbon reduction, life cycle analysis and total cost of ownership, to identify new opportunities against alternative materials, plastic reduction, and competitors.
* Manage key projects from inception to completion to ensure effective delivery.
Internal
* Collaborate closely with the Group External Affairs and ESG teams to understand Faerch Group's objectives and circularity & sustainability plans. Determine how this may benefit the customers and support their own circularity & sustainability goals. Group teams to assist in meetings where relevant.
* Work closely with NPD and Group Product Management to understand the roadmap of developments, progress, and how they may benefit Faerch in customer discussions.
* Ensure full commercial understanding of any project or development, including capex required, pricing, and margins.
* High communication and influencing skills through a personable approach.
* Professional execution of all duties internally and externally.
* Strong commercial knowledge ensuring that projects are aligned to Faerch expectations.
* High working level of Microsoft 365, with an ability to create strategic direction, project plans, commercial summaries and customer or internal presentations.
* High attention to detail to ensure projects are effectively planned, managed organised and the ability to work across the organisation.
* Adaptable to change, working with new systems, people or new processes.
* Will be required to travel as needed to customers and all Faerch sites.
* Must have full driving licence
