DataLoch at the Usher Institute within The University of Edinburgh is looking for and Information Governance Coordinator.
The Opportunity:
DataLoch is a data service that enables research and innovation through secure access to health data, to enable improvements in health and social care. The IG Coordinator will ensure appropriate information governance for all projects applying to DataLoch for data provision. They will develop effective working relationships with project leads, approvals boards, the data management team within DataLoch and wider colleagues in the University and within our NHS partners. They will ensure all appropriate governance documentation is in place for every project, and maintain that governance for the life-span of the projects to ensure that patient confidentiality is not breached and that organisational risk is minimised. This includes processing and documentation of delegated Caldicott approval for clinical research studies and reviews through the Generic Ethics panel.
The Usher Institute expects a minimum of 40% on-campus working.

Your skills and attributes for success:
• Degree in business administration or a relevant subject, or relevant hands-on experience in information governance within the healthcare setting.
• Meticulous approach to project management.
• Experience in health-related research governance or information management.
• Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks and legislation governing the conduct of clinical research & the use of unconsented data from NHS patient records.
• Proven interpersonal skills to work with academic, clinical and management colleagues across a range of organisations.
