My client is a Tier 1 Blue chip company in the energy sector, striving to meet the growing global demand for safe, sustainable, and affordable energy and as such, plans to become a leading player in offshore wind.
They are looking for a high calibre individual to support their expanding UK offshore wind team on a multi-billion-pound Windfarm Project off the Coast of the UK.
The Planning Engineer for the Project will report into the UK offshore wind lead planning lead and is responsible for delivering high quality project planning for these nationally significant offshore wind projects.
Role Responsibilities
* Lead the development of planning processes, procedures, and tools in support of the Project delivery process.
* Prepare Schedule WBS.
* Deliver high-quality Level 1 schedule.
* Ensure delivery of high-quality detailed logic linked Master Control Schedule in P6, spanning all workstreams, including Project Management, Engineering, Consenting, Stakeholder Management, HSSE, Procurement, Legal, etc.
* Maintain the Master Control Schedule and ensure regular updates.
* Manage the schedule baselining process.
* Undertake high-quality scenario planning to support Project concept development and optimization.
* Deliver high-quality planning reports and management information for input into the monthly reporting process.
* Provide project leaders with high-quality planning-related insights to facilitate decision-making processes including variance analysis and trends.
* Ensure planning discipline integration with other key project processes, such as Cost, Risk Management, and Management of Change (MoC).
* Develop and maintain overall schedule float management including schedule contingency and allowance management.
* Lead the development and application of the overall progress measurement systems.
* Interface with PSCM and the Project Service Manager to ensure planning, progress, and reporting requirements are included in major contract Project Coordination Procedures.
* Ensure that project schedules conform to the Change Control Process.
* Develop the interface with project team, workstream leads/work package managers, and contractors to initiate and lead brainstorm and workshop-type meetings like planning reviews.
* Participate in the technical and commercial reviews of ITT and bids.
* Lead effort in developing Schedule Basis and Assumptions document.
Support risk analysis, weather downtime analysis, and delay mitigation analysis. Participate throughout the risk review process. Develop ad hoc schedules and reporting as required by project leadership. Provide planning inputs to the Master Business Plan and Stage Gate verification process. Support stage/project close out, benchmarking, and shared learning.
Role Requirements
* (Preferable) Successfully completed a degree in engineering, industrial engineering, or a comparable academic degree.
* Proven track record as a planning/scheduling engineer with Primavera P6.
* Good understanding and robust working knowledge of large-scale energy projects, preferably in the offshore wind industry. Background in Oil & Gas is welcomed.
* Experience in working with cross-functional teams in international projects.
* Fluent in Business English; German is a plus, with sensitivity necessary for working in an intercultural environment.
