Job summary We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Band 5 Infant Feeding Nurse to join our Infant Feeding Team, working across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. In this role, you will provide expert support to families, focusing on breastfeeding and wider infant feeding practices. You'll work collaboratively with colleagues and community services to promote positive feeding outcomes and deliver high-quality care. Contact Details: Emma McAneny, emma.mcanenynhs.net Main duties of the job Participate in the development and delivery of the Infant Feeding management training and annual updates across LLR to the clinical teams within the Healthy Together 0-5 service Act as a professional resource for parents, families and the multi-disciplinary team within the community in relation to infant feeding, demonstrating high standards of care. Assess feeding and effective attachment, support parenting to achieve effective feeding through positioning and attachment. Assess tongue function and impact on feeding, refer to appropriate services for further treatment. Participate in audit, collection and analysis of audit results in order that these can then contribute to the improvement of the service Contribute towards the development of the Public Health Initiatives and promotional campaigns relevant to Infant Feeding. To improve the service through continuous evaluation and review with them involvement of service users and volunteers. When resumed, participate in the work of the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Infant Feeding Network to share best practice with other providers to improve infant feeding outcomes throughout the area in line with DH guidance and local targets for infant feeding. Support the Infant Feeding team in maintaining the UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Accreditation, working alongside the team to deliver a high-quality service.
