Purpose of the Position:
To lead and manage the shift in meeting the required workload, managing shift resource as effectively as possible to drive DSV towards meeting its financial goals. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company committed to providing quality, innovative value and logistics services.
Working hours for the role are 37.5 per week from Monday to Friday; however, a degree of flexibility is required.
Main Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the shift in meeting the required workload, managing shift resource effectively to drive DSV towards meeting financial goals.
* Ensure the shift is compliant with DSV health & safety standards at all times, identifying areas of risk and improving safe working practices.
* Work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure clear communication flow, allowing both shifts to work effectively towards the same goals.
* Ensure day-to-day operations and staff behaviors are completed effectively and safely.
Responsibilities of the Role:
* Team motivation – Provide leadership for the teams and ensure all shifts are working together.
* Keep teams informed through shift briefings and resolve any issues raised.
* Hygiene – Ensure the warehouse is kept to agreed standards through management of the clean as you go policy.
* Health & Safety – Conduct daily audits on equipment, weekly behavioral audits, and ensure compliance with health & safety guidelines set out by DSV.
* Act as a point of escalation for staff regarding operational and disciplinary issues.
* Drive operational performance to meet KPIs by effectively managing and allocating work to the warehouse team.
Skills Required:
* 3+ years experience in warehousing.
* Experience with Red Prairie WMS, LWS, Cargolink.
* Strong leadership skills.
* Good communication skills.
* Confident demeanor.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
* Red Prairie super user.
* Courses in absence management, accident investigations, disciplinary investigations, conflict resolution.
* Strong speaker to large groups.
* Strong conflict resolution skills.
