The below job description outlines the position of Project Manager.
We are looking for a Project Manager for one of our maritime clients. Typically, this person will join and lead an established multi-discipline Ship Repair team of an innovative International Marine Company.
HSB Technical’s client is a very established and well-regarded business entity:
1. Produce proper management of spare parts and deck/engine stores to assist with vessels' budgets.
2. Attend vessel dry docks, repairs, and produce surveys to determine repair specifications for dry docks and overhauls.
3. Work closely with internal and external customers on technical and operational matters.
4. Carry out inspections to ensure standards on board are maintained.
5. Supervise repairs and provide advice to contractors and ships’ staff during maintenance.
6. Monitor Class and Flag State requirements and plan/supervise the required surveys, ensuring that the certification of assigned vessels is maintained in accordance with relevant Class and Flag State requirements.
Qualifications and requirements for the Project Manager:
1. An engineering qualification.
2. This position would suit someone who has worked at a managerial level within the Royal Navy, either as a Marine Engineer or Weapons Engineer.
3. Good computer skills.
4. Comfortable working with the production of schematics and layouts.
5. Experience in designing and managing industrial/marine installations to rigorous regulations and standards.
6. Vital to come from a background dealing with commercial, passenger, or defence refits/new builds.
7. Vital to come from a shipyard background.
