Purchasing Manager
FermionX Ltd is based in Worthing, West Sussex. We are a family run business with almost 50 years expertise design, manufacturing and distribution. We are dedicated to delivering tailored, practical solutions for our partners.
Due to expansion, we are seeking a Purchasing Manager to oversee all purchasing and stock control activities within the business. Continually review suppliers using supplier performance measures (KPI’s) and target piece part cost reductions whilst minimizing stock holdings.
Purchasing Manager Key Responsibilities:
* Grow an effective purchasing team, focused on ensuring a goal of zero delays or stoppages through to production.
* To create and maintain an effective organizational structure, establishing and implementing procedures for maintaining high standards of purchasing and stock control of parts, in a working environment appropriate for the contract electronics manufacturing sector and in-line with business objectives.
* Supplier selection and approval to ensure that all parts and equipment are bought at the most competitive prices whilst maintaining build quality to meet customer requirements.
* Formulate and recommend stock, purchasing policies and programs that guide and develop the organisation safely in continual improvement, maintaining and improving its competitive position and enhancing the cash flow and profitability of the operation.
* Maintain supplier and component data on the ERP system ensuring that parts are ordered 'just in time'
* Develops meaningful KPI’s to manage all areas of stock and purchasing spend against targets and budgets set.
Qualifications & Experience:
* CIPS Qualified preferred.
* Min 5 years’ experience managing a purchasing or materials team.
* Proven track record in supplier management
* We are looking for a team player who is driven, solutions focused and able to work to their own initiative
Hours of work
* Monday to Thursday from 8am to 5pm
* Friday from 8am to 1pm
