Summary of the role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Employee Relations Advisor to join the People Function at Diligenta.
As a Senior Employee Relations Advisor, you will be responsible for providing dedicated, high-quality Employee Relations service on employee matters that are high risk, complex in nature, and highly sensitive, ensuring that employee relations issues are acted upon in a thorough, consistent, equitable, and proactive manner so that all risks are effectively mitigated.
You will play an essential role in overseeing new team members, including an ER Coordinator, and providing support to the existing team of ER Advisors by offering advice and guidance to ensure the delivery of consistent, impartial, and commercial advice.
What you'll be doing
* Providing advice and guidance on all complex VIP/High Risk people-related and employment queries, through consistent and timely advice on the interpretation and application of Diligenta policies and procedures in line with current legislation and best practice to achieve equitable and commercial solutions.
* Lead on any casework which has been escalated to ACAS and/or Employment Tribunal to mitigate risks and ensure costs are kept to a minimum.
* Respond to and co-ordinate the employment tribunal claims process in conjunction with the ER Manager and Diligenta's employment lawyer.
* Lead on the implications of changes in employment law and HR practice to ensure robust and effective working practices are communicated across Diligenta.
* Deputise for the Employee Relations Manager, when required with daily team management.
* Identify and communicate issues and risks, including financial, to the business and where necessary escalate these to the Strategic People Partner and ER Manager and where appropriate to the Head of Employee Relations & People Operations to ensure prompt and effective actions can be taken to find appropriate solutions.
* Assist in the development and analysis of company policies and procedures to ensure the business can proactively respond to issues which may otherwise adversely affect the company or individuals.
* Provide technical expertise to all managers and the People function, to support business change including TUPE transfers, re-organisation, restructures, harmonisation and People initiatives as required.
* Facilitate and manage the settlement agreement process to ensure risks are mitigated and appropriate sign off received.
* Update and maintain appropriate ER tracker system to ensure all casework is logged allowing proactive data analysis of ER related activity in support of the business.
What we're looking for
* Proven experience managing the full spectrum of Employee Relations processes.
* Extensive knowledge of employment law with the ability to provide commercially driven solutions.
* Experience in coaching and developing individuals on People and ER-related matters.
* Ability to coach, support, challenge, and influence decisions to effectively negotiate sensitive, pragmatic, and commercially focused resolutions to issues, risks, and queries.
* Skilled in leveraging data insights to drive positive outcomes.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, adaptable to all levels of the organization.
* Ability to maintain resilience in challenging situations.
