We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, direction, organization, exercising control over non-supervisory employees assigned to the Quality Assurance Section.

About the role:
You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the Quality Assurance Section, 423 CES Operations Flight, ensuring that contractor-provided operations, maintenance, repair and minor construction activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. In addition, you will exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities; Represent the Quality Assurance Section with a variety of installation and functional area organizations; Ensure, and participate in, the performance of inspection and surveillance of difficult and complex operations, maintenance, repair and minor construction projects and gather information to compile into written inspection reports. Your hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week on a fixed schedule (Mon-Fri 0800-1630)where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization’s flexible working policies.

About you:
You must possess a good knowledge of construction techniques sufficient to develop Statements of Work, interpret and explain contract specifications and requirements relating to building and facility operations, maintenance and repair, and minor construction sufficient to determine coordination required to ensure all design considerations have been addressed. Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and construction work to include architectural and engineering plans and specifications sufficient to read and interpret contractor requirements is essential. You will also require knowledge of the installation of various systems to include unique and specially designed precision testing instruments and one-of-a kind construction equipment, as necessary to ensure compliance with contract requirements and knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures within the construction industry is needed. You will have a skill in using computer-based software programs to create and maintain records and reports and the ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. And communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Qualification requirements:
· Specialized experience in related field or HND/HNC/BTEC, City and Guilds, NVQ or equivalent qualification, in an appropriate discipline is desired, together with a minimum of three year’s working experience in the trade; and must also be familiar with the requirements of other technical disciplines to ensure that the section provides effective oversight of all contractor-provided work.
· Expected to have experience and hold training certificates for managing Quality Assurance programs according to Industry Standards.
· A valid UK Driving License - Category B is required

Other significant facts about the role:
You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent. The position requires the knowledge of numerous regulations and codes of work. From time to time, there are various courses that must be attended to keep up to date with new practices, materials and safety legislation. The position requires the use of a hand-held two-way radio or alternative method of on-site communication. Incumbent must hold, or be capable of obtaining, an electrical skilled person’s certificate within the probation period. May be required to wear personal protective equipment when performing on-site inspections. Employee must be familiar with software packages in use by 423 CES and the NGEC contractor; training may be required in order to obtain the necessary proficiency.
