About BEAR Scotland
BEAR Scotland is a trusted alliance between three renowned companies – Vinci, Jacobs, and Breedon. Together, they manage two of Scotland’s four Trunk Road Maintenance Contracts for Transport Scotland.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented Maintenance Supervisor for BEAR Scotland. Are you ready to take on a fantastic opportunity to lead a skilled maintenance team while contributing to the upkeep of some of Scotland’s most iconic structures, including the Queensferry Crossing?
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership: Supervise and lead a multi-trade team in carrying out maintenance activities on major bridges.
2. Technician Oversight: Provide direct supervision and support to technicians.
3. Administrative Duties: Manage records such as timesheets and scheme files.
4. Health & Safety: Ensure team compliance with all health and safety protocols.
5. Project Management: Work in alignment with the cyclic maintenance programme and produce job/project estimates.
6. Quality Control: Conduct inspections of completed works to ensure high standards.
7. Documentation: Create and review Health & Safety documentation.
8. Emergency Leadership: Lead the Rescue Team and oversee nightshift works as required.
Your Skills and Experience
1. Education: HNC in an engineering discipline is preferred.
2. Technical Competence: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
3. Deadline-Oriented: Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
4. Commercial Awareness: Strong understanding of cost management.
5. Specialized Training: Certification in Work at Height and Confined Space operations.
6. Driving Licence: A fully approved UK driving licence is required.
