What is a Formwork Shuttering Carpenter?
A shuttering carpenter creates formwork or shuttering, which are temporary structures on site used as essential components of reinforced concrete construction. Formwork refers to temporary or permanent molds into which concrete is poured to form the building's concrete frame elements and complete the substructure.
The Laing O'Rourke Apprenticeship Programme - What Can You Expect?
Our Trade and Technical Apprenticeship programme is designed for individuals passionate about construction and engineering. It combines college education with work-based training, allowing you to develop skills and earn a recognized qualification while working on some of the UK's most exciting projects.
The programme provides a formal college education, leading to Level 2 and/or 3 apprenticeship standards in your chosen vocation. You will gain technical skills through on-the-job training, supported by experienced professionals and a dedicated mentor. Regular feedback will help you progress toward completing your apprenticeship.
Additional Criteria:
* Eligibility to work in the UK
* Full mobility to travel to various project locations as needed
Note: The apprenticeship trials are scheduled for August 2024 unless otherwise stated.
