Our continued expansion means that the role will be initially based in Caerphilly, relocating to our state-of-the-art HQ in Newport by the end of the year.
About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced HR Manager to join our fast-paced and growing business. Reporting into the Head of People and Talent, this role will work closely with our People Partner, Recruitment team, and L&D Director, and will require a hands-on approach to foster a positive workplace culture, ensure compliance with employment laws, and support employees in their professional development. A key component of this position is coordination with the direct people team to ensure seamless communication and alignment of our people strategy across our global locations, partnering with leadership to drive employee engagement and assist in the delivery of the people strategy in line with wider business operations.
This role would suit a driven self-starter with a passion for generalist HR and truly putting people first – a mantra that is echoed throughout AerFin and that underpins our core values and objectives. Responsibilities:
* This is a very hands-on People Manager role that requires skills to work towards a vision and big picture.
* Help make the business a great place to work and drive a positive employee experience through our HPC (High Performing Culture) initiative.
* Build relationships and work with the leadership team to provide a consistent, commercial, and professional HR service, driving change, offering solutions, and leading in areas of expertise (e.g., legislative changes).
* Review and assist with the implementation of HR policies and practices that align with the company's goals and values and which increase efficiency and productivity.
* Advise on remuneration and reward packages to ensure both competitiveness and fairness.
* Utilize the HR software system (HiBob) to maximum potential, to minimize HR administration and provide people data, e.g., staff turnover, absence, etc.
* Provide first-line advice on a range of HR issues for employees and managers.
* Manage complex employee relations issues, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, redundancy, and Settlement Agreements as required.
* Support local Corporate Social Responsibility and ESG initiatives to ensure local activities are aligned to company strategy.
* Champion EDI initiatives.
Experience:
* A self-starter with demonstrable experience in an equivalent role.
* CIPD Level 5 qualified/willing to work towards, or equivalent.
* People oriented, with excellent active listening, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, along with the ability to tactfully and thoughtfully manage complex and difficult situations.
* Excellent current knowledge of UK employment law legislation.
* Global experience in the US or Singapore would be a nice to have, but not a necessity.
* Strong leadership and management skills.
* Strategic thinking and problem-solving ability.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Self-motivated and able to work alone as and when required.
