Job Description Safety and Reliability Team Manager ( Civil UK) Full Time Derby / Hybrid 3 days on-site What you will be doing: The Civil Safety Centre is the Centre of Excellence for safety analysis, ensuring our products are safe by design and addressing safety concerns when they arise. An excellent leadership opportunity has arisen within the Safety Centre to manage the Civil Large Safety and Reliability Team. This is a key role for the safety of Civil Large products, due to the team’s influence on Red Top and SAR strategies, through the numerical assessment of safety concerns, as well as its influence on the safety of new product designs. The role requires leadership of the local team, as well as close working with both the Business Aviation S&R team and the EfS Design Safety functional leadership. Responsibilities: Lead a team of Safety and Reliability Engineers providing in-service and NPI safety support mainly to the Civil Large products. Manage the workflow through the team, in a dynamic environment, whilst maintaining adherence to commitments. Ensure the capability and capacity of the team meets the current and future requirements/budget of the Civil Large Projects. Work with the Business Aviation S&R team, as well as the broader Safety Centre leadership, to enable efficiencies and to ensure safety concerns are addressed consistently across Civil. Work with the EfS Design Safety function to ensure tools, methods and people development are in-line with Civil’s needs. Master’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering, Physics or related field. Demonstrates effective leadership and engineering skills, with sound engineering judgement and technical knowledge of the Civil Large Products. Capable of building high performing teams to interact with a high volume of interfaces. Ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and dealing with ambiguity. Sound understanding of Company Safety policies and processes. Experienced in applying process improvement techniques and driving business improvements.
