The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting an experienced Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join a world-leading, nuclear defence client based out of Devonport dockyard.
Job Overview:
Our client provides major new or upgraded dock, berth and building infrastructure projects to provide facilities for the ship and submarine sustainment programmes. Your primary focus is to ultimately assist and support the Design Manager in the delivery of project scope.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake the delivery of civil/structural engineering work packages to the required scope, quality, schedule and cost.
* Manage the technical aspects of the engineering packages from identification of the need through to handover.
* Manage one or more technical design packages, agreeing project-related objectives, managing designer performance, and providing appropriate technical management responses.
* Ensure that the design documentation covers the scope of operations required by the Project Manager and is produced to agreed standards, schedule, and budget.
* Ensure effective Quality Management Arrangements and compliance with Babcock's Business Management System and Technical Manual.
* Document processes and activities appropriately, maintaining records and applying configuration and quality controls.
* Ensure staff and contractors are familiar with hazards and risks associated with the work through effective management and communication of the Risk Assessment.
What do you need to succeed?
* Design and substantiation of heavy civil engineering and building structures, with particular experience in dock structures preferred.
* Knowledge of architectural design of industrial buildings.
* Knowledge of building services design and installation.
* Preferably experience of relevant seismic codes for satisfying Nuclear Safety Functions.
* Preferably knowledge of construction techniques employed for Nuclear Safety related structures and buildings.
