Job Title: Technical Trainer/Instructor
We are seeking an experienced Technical Trainer/Instructor to complement our team. This role is based in Faslane, Helensburgh and offers flexible working patterns, including 9/75 or 4xFlex schedules, with either a 9-day working fortnight or 4-day working week.
This is a unique opportunity for individuals with teaching, lecturing, or training experience to transition into a different industry and join a world-renowned defence company working on programmes crucial to the UK's national security.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in delivering technical subject matter, such as electronics, mechanics, physics, or have a strong interest and appreciation in these areas outside of teaching. We will provide training in the specific technical areas required to instruct on the workings and maintenance of the Royal Navy's Trident Strategic Weapon System (SWS).
Applications from individuals with direct SWS experience, such as SWS Instructor, SWS Engineer, Weapons Engineer, or similar, are also welcome.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver technical training as a fully integrated member of our instructor team, supporting the statement of training requirement.
* Encourage and mentor trainees to achieve the highest standard of training output.
* Support both practical and theory training elements for the Royal Navy and industry partners in the Trident Training Facility.
* Conduct reviews of training documentation to support the Training Delivery Associate Manager.
* Work shifts to support the Royal Navy's Training and Trident Engineering Support Trainer Programmes.
* Maintain knowledge of approved documentation, health and safety legislation, acceptance standards, and directives to ensure compliance with Trident Programme and Company requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience as an Instructor or Technical Trainer with a background in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, Electronics, or Physics.
* Experience in instructional delivery.
* Excellent co-operation, organisational, and workload management skills.
* Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
* Flexibility and adaptability to working shifts.
* Motivation, enthusiasm, reliability, initiative, and ability to work to deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
* SWS (Strategic Weapon System) experience.
