About the role
We are looking to recruit an exceptional Peripatetic Teacher of Piano who will have the opportunity to deliver one-to-one piano lessons to our students across Key Stages 3 and 4. A well-qualified and passionate individual, the successful candidate will bring enthusiasm and a commitment to supporting pupils to achieve the highest levels of success alongside our experienced team of peri teachers. The Music Department has developed considerably over the last few years, and this role provides an exciting opportunity for a teacher keen to develop their leadership skills or an experienced Head of Department seeking a new challenge.
As a Peripatetic Teacher of Piano at North Bridge House Senior, you will:
1. Support the planning, preparation, and implementation of engaging, accessible one-to-one lessons in conjunction with the Music Department.
2. Be responsible for the recording, assessing, and reporting of pupils’ learning.
3. Be responsible for embodying the positive ethos and values of the school both inside and outside of the classroom.
4. Be responsible for the needs of all pupils, including those with special educational needs.
5. Provide regular and timely feedback to pupils in lessons and encourage pupils to take an active approach in meeting their practice targets.
6. Be actively involved in the wider life of the school, such as prepping pupils for solo opportunities for our Informal Concerts, supporting our annual musical, as well as Christmas and Summer Festival concerts.
Who we are looking for:
You will have a good honours degree in Music as well as practical teaching experience in Music. You will also be a highly effective communicator with excellent organisational and planning skills, creative thinking, and computer literacy.
