Our client is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer who will be responsible for designing and developing electrical solutions for robot-based, electromechanical systems used in factory and process automation. Working collaboratively with different departments, you will be relied upon for your electrical expertise to deliver safe and effective systems for their clients. The ideal candidate will have experience using EPLAN electrical design software and be familiar with designing industrial control cabinets. In addition to the design work, there may be occasions where you'll need to assist in the workshop, troubleshooting issues and identifying solutions, so experience with electrical building will be advantageous. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will interact with both internal teams and external stakeholders. You will also be responsible for generating and managing technical documentation, following the company's product development process. This role may require travel to client sites across the UK, particularly within the defence and aerospace sectors. Due to this, the successful candidate must be a UK citizen. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop electrical solutions for robot-based automation systems. Collaborate across departments to deliver safe and efficient electrical designs. Use EPLAN to create detailed electrical schematics and 2D panel layouts. Occasionally assist in the workshop with troubleshooting and fault-finding. Manage technical documentation in line with the company's development processes. Travel to client sites as required, primarily within the defence and aerospace sectors. Candidate Requirements: Degree/HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. Previous experience in electrical design or a related role requiring significant design input. Proficiency in creating electrical schematics and using EPLAN. Ability to create 2D electrical panel layouts. Effective time management and ability to meet project milestones. Willingness to learn new technologies. Familiarity with industry standards and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Competence with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Full UK driving licence. Desirable Skills: Hands-on experience with electrical building or working in an industrial workshop environment.
