This is an exciting opportunity for Rehabilitation Officer qualified in rehabilitating those with a visual impairment, as we have created a new post within Adult Social Care in order to enhance our vision rehabilitation offer. The post would be based within our Prevention Services and you would work alongside our Sensory Support Officer. The post holder will be responsible for providing a specialist assessment and rehabilitation service to people with sensory impairment and their carers to maximise their independence and wellbeing. This will involve working closely with the person’s allocated Social Worker. As this is a newly created post you will have the opportunity to influence the development of the service and to be involved in the development of policies and procedures in relation to vision rehabilitation. You will have the opportunity to work from home as well as a base with Middlesbrough Independent Living Services at Cavendish House. New staff joining Middlesbrough Council can expect a warm welcome from the team, with the opportunity to work collaboratively with other adult social care teams within the office setting.
