Apprentice Trainer for Carpentry 29.6 hrs
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Apprentice Trainer for Site Carpentry to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of industry experience as a qualified site carpenter (Level 3) and will be passionate about shaping the next generation of carpenters. This role involves planning, delivering, marking, and assessing both practical and theoretical training for apprentices, guiding them through their Carpentry and Joinery apprenticeship (Level 2) and Craft Carpentry apprenticeship (Level 3) standards.
Main Responsibilities and DutiesApprenticeship Enrollment:Ensure apprentices are enrolled in the correct apprenticeship standard that aligns with their career objectives.
Engagement:Discuss course content, objectives, assessment processes, and criteria with employers and apprentices during initial engagement.
Employer Coordination:Ensure employer sponsors provide a suitable range and scope of work that allows apprentices to practice the required skills, knowledge, and behaviors.
Curriculum Planning:Develop and deliver well-structured lesson plans and Schemes of Work, preparing learning materials as needed.
Assessment and Feedback:Mark apprentices' work, provide developmental feedback, and guide them on submitting quality evidence via Smart Assessor E-portfolio.
Collaboration:Work with lecturers and workplace training officers to monitor apprentice progress and prepare progress reports for formal reviews every 10-12 weeks.
Monitoring and Support:Continuously monitor student progress, behavior, and welfare, taking prompt action where necessary to address any concerns.
Final Assessment Preparation:Prepare students for their final projects and End Point Assessments, working closely with Training Officers to ensure readiness.
Safeguarding:Monitor and address any welfare or safeguarding concerns regarding apprentices.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* Industry Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience as a qualified site carpenter to Level 3, with up-to-date skills and knowledge in current building practices.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Assessment Qualifications:Ideally hold a qualification in assessing competency, such as TAQA, A1, or D32. Candidates with relevant assessment experience but without formal qualifications may still be considered.
* Teaching Qualifications:Ideally hold a teaching qualification such as Cert Ed, CITLLS, PTLLS, DTLLS, DET, or relevant TAQA modules. Candidates with sufficient experience but without formal teaching qualifications may be considered, but will be required to complete a teaching qualification program.
