We have an opportunity for a qualified MRI radiographer with at least 2 years of experience within this modality with HCPC registration and based in the UK who would be interested in working with our Trust on a bank basis.
This opportunity is in the MRI department at St Richards Hospital, Chichester, West Sussex with a possibility of some cross site working at Worthing/Southlands hospitals.

Job responsibilities
1. Communications and Relationship skills - (Factor 1)
o To communicate in a concise and appropriate manner, highly complex information regarding examinations to clinicians and multidisciplinary teams, regarding diagnosis and/or treatment of patients.
o To promote good working relationships both between all staff within the Imaging Department and across multi-disciplinary teams.
2. Analytical and Judgemental skills - (Factor 3)
o To be aware of limitations of experience and seek additional advice if required.
o To assist in the evaluation of new equipment if requested by senior staff.
o To be able to utilise MRI knowledge to undertake timely and accurate decisions in patient care.
3. Planning and Organisational skills - (Factor 4)
o To prioritise and co-ordinate workload and resources in own area of work ensuring efficient and effective patient management.
o To work autonomously and effectively to ensure a safe and efficient service for patients.
4. Patient/ Client Care - (Factor 6)
o To observe and care for patients under investigation, liaising with clerical staff, porters, nurses and medical staff as appropriate in the best interests of the patient and any escorts.
o To ensure safe patient care and welfare whilst under the care of the Trust.

5. Policy and Service Development Implementation - (Factor 7)
o As the Radiology service expands the post holder is expected to maintain a flexible approach to work patterns in order to meet the changing needs of the department and to contribute to this expansion.
o To contribute to the creation of policies and procedural development using clinical knowledge.
6. Financial and Physical Development (inc. equipment, stock etc) - (Factor 8)
o To contribute to financial initiatives through the careful use of all resources.
7. Human Resources (inc. developing and delivering training) - (Factor 9)
o To assist in the supervision and training of students, junior staff, other hospital or medical staff or outside parties if so required.
o To undertake the role of mentor and appraiser to junior staff.
8. Information Resources - (Factor 10)
o To receive and document patients as appropriate to maintain full patient registration for updating the departmental record system, and comply with protocols for patient record details.
o To adhere to trust information governance policies.
o To be able to maintain accurate records through the use of departmental RIS.
9. Research and Development - (Factor 11)
o To attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings e.g. radiology audit, clinical governance, team meetings, safety huddle.
o To maintain an up-to-date CPD profile as per HCPC requirements.
10. Professional (not included in any of the above factors)
o Maintain own professional standards and registrations.
o To maintain own safety and that of colleagues, patients and visitors by adhering to departmental safety policies.
o To support the superintendent radiographer by undertaking a supervisory role in their working area of the department.
o To maintain up to date mandatory training records.
11. Clinical (not included in any of the above factors)
o To perform MRI scans in accordance with present protocols.
o To become and remain proficient in the use of all equipment used.
o To participate in the current shift pattern of the department including 12 hr days and weekend working.
o To ensure that all equipment is safe and fit for purpose and to highlight equipment faults to a senior member of staff which should be reported in a timely manner and in line with departmental fault reporting policies.
o Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
o To maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of all equipment used within the department, and use all equipment in the correct manner ensuring your safety and wellbeing.
o Adherence to Trust infection control policies and procedures.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
* An appropriate professional qualifications such as those recognised by The Society of Radiographers. Eg. BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
* HCPC registration.
* NHS/ UK Healthcare experience.
* Minimum of 2 years MRI experience.
* Broad based knowledge of MRI imaging techniques.
* Extensive knowledge of MRI safety.
Desirable
* Post Graduate qualification in role specific area (or commitment to undertake such a qualification).
* Current Cannulation skills.
* Previous Cardiac MRI experience.
Skills

* Good communication skills.
* To make effective and accurate judgements between normal and pathological findings.
* General computer skills i.e. word processing/keyboard skills.
* Good team working skills.
* To be flexible in working according to departmental needs.
