Job Description:
As a Classroom Support, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. Working closely with teachers and other professionals, you will provide personalised support and guidance to students, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and thrive in the classroom environment.
The school setting is a nurturing and inclusive educational institution dedicated to providing high-quality learning experiences for students with special educational needs (SEN). The students are Primary aged through to 6th form age. We are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join their team as SEN Care Assistants to support the learning and development of their students.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs, including those with learning difficulties, communication needs, sensory impairments, and behavioural challenges.
2. Assist teachers in planning and delivering differentiated lessons and activities that meet the individual learning needs and abilities of students with SEN, adapting teaching resources and strategies as necessary.
3. Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans (BSPs), working collaboratively with teachers and external professionals to monitor progress and adjust support strategies as required.
4. Foster positive relationships with students, providing emotional support and guidance to help them manage their feelings, behaviour, and social interactions.
5. Support students during transitions between activities, classes, and environments, ensuring they feel safe, supported, and included in all aspects of school life.
6. Assist with the preparation and organisation of classroom resources, materials, and equipment, ensuring they are accessible and appropriate for students with SEN.

Must Have:
1. Ability to work well independently and as a team.
2. Passion to support and empower children and young people.
3. A DBS on the Updates Service, or be willing to obtain one.
4. Commitment to safeguarding students and young people.
