About the Role: The Ocean Freight Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of ocean freight shipments. This position requires a strong understanding of ocean freight operations, documentation, and trade terms. Responsibilities: · Coordinate and manage ocean freight shipments from booking to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate execution. · Prepare and process necessary documentation, including shipping instructions, bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices. · Liaise with shipping lines, customs brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth shipment flow. · Monitor and track shipments, providing updates to customers and resolving any issues that may arise. · Negotiate freight rates and contract terms with shipping lines. · Handle customs clearance procedures, including documentation and payment. · Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly. · Stay updated on industry regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements. · Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. · Collaborate with other departments within the company to ensure seamless communication and coordination. ·Analyze and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to ocean freight operations.
