Thrifted is focused on providing fashion first vintage at scale and at affordable price points. Based in Grays, Essex - Thrifted currently processes all of its clothing on site - washing, ironing, photographing and listing. Thrifted sells its clothing largely through its own website - thrifted.com, but also through ebay and events.
Role title: Events & Operations Manager
Summary:
Thrifted are looking for a confident hardworking individual who will plan & manage Thrifted events, as well as assist the director in day to day warehouse operations. Applicants must have strong organization skills, have an interest in fashion, an understanding of the vintage market and have a strong desire to grow with the company.
The events and operation manager will be expected to work largely in the warehouse processing deliveries and assisting the warehouse team’s output. Alongside planning and running 2-3 monthly events - which will be largely based in London.
The role background:
The role of events and operations manager is an important part of Thrifted’s strategy for 2024 / 2025. With increased advertising costs, changes in social media algorithms and a rising consumer appetite for Thrift events & value shopping - events will make up a core part of Thrifted’s customer acquisition and content strategy.
Events put a higher level of pressure on warehouse operations. Particularly correctly sorting / grading vintage stock according to the different sales channels in the business.
Areas of responsibility:
Operations
Stock :
* Taking & organizing deliveries
* Managing & reporting stock levels
* Ensuring stock flow
* Stock quality control
* Stock authentication - spotting & removing fake brand
* Grading & sorting deliveries
* Pricing website items
HR - work alongside warehouse supervisors to:
* General Team management
* Lead & manage warehouse teams (Laundry, Packing, Sorting)
* Assist with day to day HR issues - sickness, absence etc
* Conduct reviews & set performance goals
* Lead hiring & help with onboarding
Buying:
* Product strategy - for menswear & womenswear
* Communicate with suppliers - changes in products / trends
* Check delivery quality
* Organise freight
Wholesale:
* Assist running of our vintage wholesale operation
* Website management
* Sorting stock
* Order processing
* Supply management
Events
Planning
* Venue management & communications
* Team organization - hiring temporary staff
* Plan stock requirement
* Assist with marketing - provide dates, timings, ideas for promoting events.
* Create and run through checklists in build up
Managing
* Van hire / driving
* Setup - organize venue / stock
* Organise & manage team on the day
* Be senior point of contact for customers
* Organise and arrange smooth packdown

Required:
* A strong knowledge base of vintage clothing
* Experience of authenticating clothing
* Experience & knowledge of fashion trends - both in vintage & new fashion.
* Ideally some management experience
* Strong computer skills
* UK drivers licence
Helpful but not necessary:
* Experience of Shopify
* Photography skills
* Language skills
Working terms:
Hours:
* Monday to Friday - 8:30am - 4:30pm - 40 hours per week
* For Events - often on Saturdays, the following Monday or Tuesday will be given as a weekend. Hours can vary on event days according to the event itself typically 8-12 hours.
Location:
* At warehouse for non-event weeks
* At event locations on and prior to events
* Possibility of admin days to work remotely - 2-4 per month
Pay
* Pay Is according to level of experience in:
* Vintage
* Events
* Pay range: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum
* Event commission: £500 per £10,000 sales - events takings range from £15,000 - £40,000 per month at the moment, expecting to rise with a more dedicated team.
