We're looking for an organised and methodical person to play a key role in ensuring the finance function of the Trust and its trading subsidiary are run efficiently and effectively. You We’re looking for someone who is organised and methodical with experience of financial procedures and working to strict deadlines. Working as part of the finance and operations team, you will play a key role in ensuring the finance function of the Trust and its trading subsidiary, WNCT Enterprises Ltd, run efficiently and effectively. You must be able to plan and manage your workload to fit within various reporting deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy of transactions recorded. This role does not require any formal accounting or financial qualifications but you must be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of accounting & bookkeeping practices as well as some understanding of VAT. It also means cultivating inclusive workspaces that are free from discrimination, where differences are valued, everyone can be themselves and flourish, just like nature The role Based at our offices at Lower Smite Farm the main elements of the role will be: Financial Operations and Support Processing of invoices received and following procedures for authorisation ahead of payment Processing of employee and volunteer expenses forms Recording financial transactions (Sage 50 Accounts is currently used by the Trust and WNCT Enterprises) and bank reconciliations Supporting the Head of Finance and Operations to complete requirements in respect of VAT, payroll, HMRC and other agencies as required Assist in the creation of quarterly financial management reports and assisting auditors in relation to preparation of annual accounts Administrative operations and support Support the delivery of day-to-day administrative activities, including dealing with incoming enquiries Supporting team of volunteer receptionists in delivery of their responsibilities Assisting with the management of contractors and service delivery in respect of cleaning, waste, utilities and general maintenance and operation of the offices at Lower Smite Farm and other trust owned properties This is 0.5 FTE/17.5 hours per week position with the working pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate within the hours 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. Some occasional evening and weekend working will be required to assist with Trust events. The role will be largely based at Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, Lower Smite Farm, Hindlip, Worcester WR3 8SZ with hybrid working available upon completion of probation period.
