Food Preparation Assistant
Grade G3 Scale 4-6 (salary £5,527 - £5,704)
10 hours over 5 days (2 hours per day 12-2)
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Food Preparation Assistant to join our wonderful team and be an additional asset to our school. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that our dining areas are clean, safe, and welcoming while assisting in food preparation and serving the school community. If you have a passion for providing high-quality service and maintaining high hygiene standards, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
* Food Preparation: Assist with food preparation in accordance with the school's menu and dietary requirements.
* Hygiene Standards: Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety at all times, including basic food hygiene practices.
* Serving Meals: Serve meals to pupils in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring that food is presented well and served in a timely fashion.
* Clearance of Dining Area: Ensure the dining area is kept clean and tidy during and after meal times.
* General Cleaning Duties: Carry out cleaning duties across the kitchen and dining areas, including equipment and utensils.
* Equipment Checks: Regularly check and maintain kitchen equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
* Training: Undertake relevant training, including food hygiene courses, to maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
* Basic food hygiene certification or willingness to undertake training.
* High standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
* Ability to interact positively with pupils.
* Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication skills.
* Previous experience in a school setting is an advantage.
