Teaching Assistant (Secondary School) – Long-Term Position, 5 days a week About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant secondary school on a long-term temp basis. This role involves supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and assisting with general classroom activities. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other staff to provide high-quality support that enhances the learning experience for all students. * Provide one-to-one and group support to students with SEN, ensuring individual needs are met.
* Assist in delivering tailored interventions and differentiated learning strategies.
* Support classroom teachers with lesson preparation, delivery, and behaviour management.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting student engagement and confidence.
* Monitor and record student progress, reporting to relevant staff and contributing to assessments and reviews.
* Encourage social interaction and help develop essential skills in students.
* Uphold school policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
Essential Requirements:
* Valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check (or willingness to undergo one).
* Professional references covering the last two years.
* Relevant safeguarding training and understanding in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidelines.
* Experience working with children or young people, preferably within a secondary school setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting student development.
Desirable:
* Qualifications related to education, childcare, or SEN support.
* Experience working specifically with SEN students.
* Knowledge of specific intervention strategies and educational resources.
