Clinical Transcription Typist (Internal Only)
This position is open to staff working at the Trust in the 'ECT Family' this includes current East Cheshire NHS Trust employees, both NHSP and ECT bank staff, ISS staff and volunteers at the Trust. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from applicants not listed within these groups.

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced audio typist with medical terminology to join our dedicated team in the Clinical Transcription Suite.
The Clinical Transcription Suite provides typing support to the clinical specialties. You will be working with a team of professionals who are truly some of the best in their field with expertise in a wide range of medical terminologies and who will provide you with support and training.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the audio typing and transcription of all clinical correspondence across all clinical specialties. The post-holder will be expected to ensure all clinical correspondence is typed and processed within specified timescales.
The post-holder will need to demonstrate a flexible approach to the job, providing typing support for the medical secretaries.
The post-holder will need fast and accurate audio typing skills and a sound knowledge of medical terminology.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* 5 GCSE's including Maths and English Language Grade C and above
* Typing qualifications to RSA II standard (Royal Society of Arts)
* Computer literate to ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) standard or equivalent
* AMSPAR diploma
* RSA III typing qualification (Royal Society of Arts)
Knowledge & Skills
* Medical Terminology
* Fast and accurate audio typist
* Good communicator - able to deal with people at all levels
* Ability to handle sensitive information without compromising confidentiality or trust
* Knowledge of Medisec
* Awareness of NHS policies
