The Admin Manager/Patient Pathway Manager (PPM) is the first point of contact for all administrative queries in the Department. You will be responsible for supporting, leading and developing a large administrative team as well as managing patient pathways.
As Admin Manager/PPM, you will be responsible for the line management of the administration team and medical secretaries who support the running of the Department. We are looking for someone who is an excellent role model, can support staff with training and development, and inspire the team to work to continuously improve the patient experience and ensure that the Department runs smoothly.
This post offers exciting opportunities for experienced admin managers who are looking to further develop their knowledge and skills. Previous postholders in this role have progressed into senior positions in the Trust, such as Senior Speciality Managers and project managers.

Main duties of the job
* To support the Senior Speciality Manager in providing leadership and line management to the Department's administrative team.
* This includes providing development opportunities and regular 1-1s and leading by example to support the morale of the team.
* To be the main point of contact for the secretarial, administrative and clerical services supporting patient activity in the Department.
* To monitor patient pathways in accordance with Government Access Targets, Elective Recovery Targets and the Trust's Patient Access Policy.
* To provide support in the operational activity across the speciality on meeting patient access targets.
* To manage the Departmental rotas, including Admin, Theatres, Consultant and On-Call.
* Acting as the administrative lead and point of contact for low-level PALS queries.
* Investigating all administrative aspects of formal complaints to be fed back to the Speciality Triumvirate.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
* Completion of staff management courses such as conducting appraisal, managing performance and sickness (may be internal courses).
* Degree (or equivalent)
Knowledge & Experience
* Significant previous administrative and secretarial experience
* Knowledge and/or previous experience of working within the NHS or similar health care setting
* Experience of conducting appraisals and annual reviews
