Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer seeking an exciting opportunity within a key joint venture in the water industry? Our client, a collaboration between two leading contractors, is looking for a talented Electrical Design Engineer to work on critical water infrastructure projects in the Severn Trent region.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and deliver electrical design solutions for water infrastructure projects, including power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation.
2. Produce detailed electrical designs, drawings, and technical specifications in line with industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
3. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including mechanical and civil engineers, project managers, and contractors, to ensure the integration of electrical systems.
4. Review and approve electrical design submissions, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with Severn Trent framework requirements.
5. Support project teams with electrical expertise during installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
6. Provide technical support to resolve design challenges and ensure projects meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
7. Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, calculations, and progress updates.
8. Engage with clients and stakeholders to discuss design requirements and progress.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer, ideally within the water sector or related infrastructure industries.
2. Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, industry standards, and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
3. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail when developing complex designs.
4. Strong communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with project teams and clients.
5. Relevant qualifications in electrical engineering (e.g., BEng/MEng in Electrical Engineering) and professional certifications.
6. Familiarity with the Severn Trent Framework or similar utility frameworks is a strong advantage.
