We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Demand Planner

About the Role
As part of our assembly-only manufacturing operation for traffic signals, you will play a key role in managing demand planning, ensuring efficient inventory levels, and supporting production scheduling. This position is critical to maintaining seamless operations and meeting customer demands in a fast-paced environment.
Key Accountabilities
1. Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts based on sales data, historical trends, and market analysis.
2. Collaborate with sales, production, and supply chain teams to align forecasts with business objectives.
3. Monitor and adjust demand plans in response to market fluctuations, customer requirements, or production constraints.
4. Utilise SAGE MRP to manage and optimise materials planning processes.
5. Ensure accurate data input into the system, including Bill of Materials (BOMs), production schedules, and inventory levels.
6. Generate reports and provide actionable insights from SAGE MRP to support decision-making.
7. Maintain optimal stock levels of components and finished goods, minimising stockouts and overstock situations.
8. Work closely with Procurement to manage lead times, order quantities, and replenishment schedules.
9. Conduct regular inventory audits and analyse usage patterns to improve inventory accuracy.
10. Liaise with production teams to ensure schedules align with demand forecasts and material availability.
11. Identify potential bottlenecks or risks in the production process and propose solutions.
12. Support the introduction of new products or product changes by updating MRP data and coordinating supply chain adjustments.
13. Analyse key performance metrics related to demand planning and inventory management, identifying areas for improvement.
14. Implement best practices and process enhancements to improve forecast accuracy and operational efficiency.
15. Train team members on SAGE MRP functionalities and planning procedures as needed.
Key Skills
1. Proven experience in demand planning or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
2. Proficiency in using SAGE MRP for materials planning and inventory management.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with suppliers.
5. Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
6. Knowledge of supply chain management principles and inventory optimisation strategies.
7. Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
8. Basic computer skills for recording and reporting data.
