Overview
Ultra Challenge specialises in creating unique challenges and in 2024 over 36,000 people took on one of our ‘Ultra Challenge’ events, which is now the UK’s leading series of treks & trail runs and raises over £10 million for charity each year. In 2025 we plan to build on that success and help more people achieve their personal goals.
We have an excellent event’s team who bring these events to life and deliver first class support & hospitality for participants. We’re on the lookout for hardworking & resilient individuals to join our team and get involved in something special.
Experience
We are seeking reliable and skilled Drivers to join our event team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in driving and possess excellent communication skills with a ‘can-do’ attitude. This role is essential for ensuring the timely and safe delivery of participants while maintaining high standards of service. Experience in working on mass participant & outdoor events is ideal but not essential.
As the driver you will be responsible for operating various types of vehicles including vans, hire vehicles and minibuses, while adhering to all safety regulations. A D1 on your driving licence is ideal for this job role.
Role
Over the weekend ‘event days’ it’s all about providing the best experience – following ad hoc tasks set by the event control team either picking up participants on route, event shuttle movements and/or moving participants between the rest stops, as well as other ad hoc tasks over the weekend especially during the busy periods and be able to work well under-pressure.
You will learn on the job from our experienced Event Crew and will have the option to select your preferred choice of working days when completing your event availability. We allocate shifts dependent on crew availability and shift patterns for the event, and this may also be through the night with appropriate breaks included in your weekend shift which will be confirmed prior to your driving shift.
We are seeking new crew members who can commit to work on several of our Ultra Challenge events over the season (which runs from late March – mid October) and to become part of our successful, fun event team. Our events are located in different parts of the UK and is mainly weekend work.
As you begin to experience working on our events, there will be opportunities to take on more responsibility as the event season progresses, you will have the opportunity to either be an on-event driver or mix between both the event crew &/or on-event driving.
