Job Title: Software Engineer
Location: Samlesbury or Filton. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: £47,683 – £52,426 depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
1. Designing & developing technical solutions
2. Re-working existing Java solutions for operation in a cloud native environment
3. Adherence to project processes and software development practices
4. Supporting system test and integration activities
5. Producing/updating technical documentation
6. Planning, scheduling, and reviewing work of the team (as part of agile team)
7. Liaising with multiple stakeholders and reporting on progress
8. Assisting debugging, fault tracing and analysis for sustainment activities
9. Supporting product deployment and configuration
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
1. Experience with Java programming language
2. Experience of the software development lifecycle and processes (e.g. design, coding, unit testing, deployment & support), via industry standard tools (e.g. UML design tools, code IDEs, Automated test platforms)
3. Experience of GIT based repositories including version & variant management
Desirable:
1. Experience with Python programming language
2. Experience of Cloud based technologies
3. Knowledge of Oracle 19C and SQL
4. An understanding of DevSecOps
5. Windows or Linux O/S including scripting
6. Object-oriented design/development including UML, SysML or XML
7. Experience with legacy SOAP messaging
8. Some understanding of supply chain operations & warehousing in a military environment

The SCM team:
The F-35 Maintenance System (MxS) SCM Team operate Agile (DevSecOps) working practices and you will be working as a full-time member of the Scrum product team. The SCM team is centred at Samlesbury, with members also in Filton. The team operate a hybrid working system, working collaboratively in the office when needed.
