Green Sefton, Operational In-House Services
Temporary Summer Posts 2025
Coastal and Grounds Maintenance & Beach Car Parking roles
6 month summer seasonal posts April to September (may accept a later start date)
Sefton Council has a number of Temporary Seasonal Ranger posts available within Green Sefton’s Land Management Team, to assist with increased workload during the busy summer season on the beaches/coastline and in the Borough’s parks.
From 3 separate depots, Green Sefton provides our communities with a clean, green Borough including parks and greenspaces, nature reserves, trees, and woodlands, play and recreational facilities, municipal golf courses and our coast, beaches, and countryside, which include specially protected sites and landscapes, benefitting the health and wellbeing of residents, visitors, investors, and nature.
Working almost exclusively in outdoor environments, the work involves a variety of duties, including lifting and carrying, dealing with the public, using tools and equipment, cash handling, grass cutting, cleansing, and driving, depending on location and business needs.
Applicants should ideally hold a full clean driving licence.
All successful applicants will be assigned to a team/depot to report to at the start/finish of each day. Duties may vary in location and in accordance with business needs, e.g. working on different sites from time to time. Where this is the case, return travel will be provided from the depots each day.
Green Sefton welcomes applications from graduates and is open to shorter contracts during the summer season as posts dictate.
Some roles include evening, weekend, and bank holiday working at enhanced rates. Hours of work and rota patterns will be outlined at the interview stage.
Interviews week beginning 10th February 2025
All posts are subject to probation.
Obtaining references is critical - Any offer of appointment will be subject to satisfactory references – successful applicants must ensure that references are obtained as quickly as possible.
