About The Service An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Post 16 ALN Lead Officer within in the ALN Statutory Team as part of the Education Inclusion Service. The Inclusion Service is part of the Education and Lifelong Learning Directorate, and is responsible for ensuring the council meets its statutory responsibilities to young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) up to the age of 25, in line with the new ALN legislation. About the job The role focuses on the strategic development of Post 16 provision for young people with additional learning needs (ALN) in Cardiff. To ensure that young people 16-25 with ALN have their needs appropriately identified and met, their independence is promoted, and they are supported to achieve their full potential, in accordance with the responsibilities of local authorities set out in the ALN Code. This includes the promotion of knowledge, understanding and implementation of the ALN Code and support ALNCos and FEIs to maintain IDPs, adopting a person-centred approach for all learners. What We Are Looking For From You We are looking for an experienced individual with proven leadership skills and the ability to lead and manage change. You will have excellent knowledge and understanding of the ALN Code. You will have experience of working in collaboration with health, children services, parent partnership services and other partners to promote inclusion and improve outcomes for children and young people with ALN.
