Overview
Our client is a niche firm specialising in the defence of serious crime. They are frequently instructed to represent and defend in extremely serious cases. They are fortunate to benefit from a solid team of talent comprising some of the best Solicitors and Barristers who are eminent within their profession. They are continually expanding and are now seeking to develop that team further by the addition of an Administrator in the police station department to provide competent, effective and efficient administrative support.
Salary: Extremely Competitive
The Role
Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following:
1. Diary Management
2. Draft daily, weekly & monthly rota’s for all police station and Court duty’s
3. Update and manage various excel documents with a high volume of data
4. Open and create new client files on the case management system
5. Print, maintain and update physical files
6. Administer and deal with telephone calls and messages
7. Communicate and liaise with police officers concerning suspects on police bail and under investigation
8. Communicate and liaise with clients and provide them with updates concerning the progress of their case
9. Maintain and update internal databases and spreadsheets to monitor progress of cases
10. Communicate and liaise with stakeholders within the Criminal Justice System, arrange meetings and video conferences for Solicitors and allocate work accordingly
11. To manage own work allocation, productivity, and quality of work with minimum supervision
12. Assist in the management of the day to day running of all tasks within the department
13. Billing concluded case files
14. Archiving concluded case files
15. To carry out other ad hoc tasks as required
The Person
The most suitable candidate must have at least five years previous office administration experience in a role that has required a similar skillset. They must be proficient with all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The ideal candidate must be extremely proficient with computers, IT, and technology. They must be confident, personable and have an excellent telephone manner. They must have confidence in liaising with clients and other outside entities daily, be able to multitask and manage a high volume of workload competently and be able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
