Our children’s services team is leading the way with exciting developments to further improve the lives of children and families in Blackpool.
Over the past few years, Blackpool Children Social Care has been involved with Born into Care and implemented a co-production group to establish new ways of working to support families.
As a result, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a social worker to join us in the 0 – infant service, primarily working with pre-birth to 2 years. The focus is to provide early intervention and support to families to support, where possible, children remaining with their parents and family.
These new roles will work in a whole family way to understand what life is like for children and will co-produce plans with families and partners to improve outcomes.
The role of the social worker will be to manage a case load, undertaking pre-birth assessments and co-producing plans with parents, families, and wider partnership. The role will also involve chairing child in need meetings, core group meetings, undertaking viability and connected care assessments, risk assessments, birth plans, and undertaking court work.
We are looking for a social worker who is an expert in engaging families and other agencies; experience is vital as well as undertaking parenting assessments, risk assessments, and delivering targeted support and intervention.
