• Do you have experience in supporting students in vocational learning, work experience, and transition planning?We require a Post-16 Level 4 Teaching Assistant, to play a key role in supporting students aged 16-19 in their journey to adulthood. The post holder will provide tailored assistance in both small groups and on a one-on-one basis. You will deliver lessons, helping students to become independent and ready for the next phase of their education, training or employment. This may include but not limited to, sport, food hygiene, vocational studies, preparation for work experience. The successful applicant will need to have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to build trusted relationships with students and staff. Our school continues to grow and we need to continue to address the increasingly complex needs of our young people and their families. The majority of our student have a diagnosis of autism or needs around speech language and communication. Whilst it is not essential that the successful candidate has experience of autism it will be beneficial for candidates to be able to demonstrate an understanding of the complexities arising from ASD and the need to advocate skilfully on behalf of pupils who have SLCN needs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working closely with students and their families from either mainstream or specialist environment.
