Job overview
To lead on development, oversight and delivery of the women’s pathway for the London Pathways Partnership across all aspects of the Offender Personality Disorder Community Pathway including screening, assessment formulation and the development of gender responsive interventions. The post will involve development, oversight and delivery of the women’s strategy in partnership with probation and third sector partner providers.
Main duties of the job
* Provide psychological support to HMPPS women’s approved premises in London
* Provide psychological support to the OPD women’s hostel
* Develop, oversee and deliver the London OPD women’s hub, in partnership with probation and third sector partner providers
* Develop, oversee and deliver gender-specific approaches to formulation, assessment and interventions within the London women’s OPD pathway
* Attend women’s OPD strategy and LPP senior leadership meetings for London and more widely, where required
* Monitor performance and delivery of the London OPD women’s pathway for LPP, including preparation of quarterly reports and management and escalation of risks
* Maintain close liaison with partner organisation women’s leads (e.g. HMPPS, Women in Prison and Penrose) and LPP service and clinical leads
* Coordinate and oversee the LPP women’s champions across London
* Plan the women’s pathway networking event
* Prepare women’s MBT quarterly reports
* Complete and monitor the women’s risk and issues log, ensuring information is escalated.

Management responsibilities
* Supervise Band 7, psychology trainees and assistants
* Supervise women’s groups across the PD Pathway
* Oversee women’s champions pan London
* Develop and oversee pan London groups
* Specify level of responsibility as clinical or non-clinical
Recruitment
* Oversee training needs for staff working across the women’s pathway and arrange/develop training to meet needs.
* Ensure involvement in conversations around referrals and formulation of women attending the hub.
Leadership
* Accountable to LPP Clinical leads and LPP chair
* Develop and deliver training for the women’s pathway
* Oversee and supervise treatment
* Strategically develop the women’s pathway
* Work autonomously with professional guidelines and the overall framework of LPP and Oxleas policies and procedures.
* Utilise research skills for audit, research, and policy and service development within LPP and the forensic specialties directorate.
Clinical
* Offer psychological advice and consultation to multi-disciplinary colleagues and other agencies that promotes patient, carer and staff safety and wellbeing.

* Hold a small clinical caseload
Research
* Oversee and supervise the women’s recall guidance document
* Lead on developing and implementing the women’s strategy
* Lead on the women’s brochure development and circulation
* Lead on reviewing the women’s stabilisation psychology offer
Communication
* Communicate with key stakeholders across the OPD Community Pathway, (e.g. HMPPS, Women in Prison and Penrose) and LPP service and clinical leads
* Maintain records and documentation
* Write reports
Person specification
Qualifications
* Entry-level qualification in applied psychological therapy/mental health/social welfare profession or equivalent and demonstrable practice in this field (i.e., professional Doctorate, or combination of MSc plus PG Diploma level/supervised practice/additional training) accepted for professional registration.
* Additional training in a specialised area of psychological practice.
* Completed training course in clinical supervision and/or accredited to supervise qualified psychological practitioners.
* Registered with professional body or regulatory body as appropriate to psychological therapy discipline (e.g., HCPC/UKCP/BACP/BABCP).
* Evidence of continuing professional development as required by the professional body.
Experience
* Completion of a minimum of four years full-time (or equivalent part-time) post-doctoral post-qualification supervised experience (including 2 years at a highly specialist level) in adult mental health or forensic/secure settings.
* Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients with a range of psychological needs of a complex nature.
* Experience of working with and addressing issues of diversity.
* Experience of maintaining professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems.
* Experience of participation in recruitment.
* Experience in providing teaching and training to psychological practitioners or other professional groups.
* Experience in the supervision of junior staff, students or trainee psychological therapists.
* Experience of clinical or operational management of qualified psychological practitioners.
* Experience of developing service procedures.
* Experience of working with women in forensic settings.
* Experience of working with people with personality difficulties.
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge
* Skills in complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management.
* Well-developed communication skills, both orally and in writing.
* Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group, mental health and child protection.
* High level knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies.
* Knowledge of research methodology, research design and complex data analysis.
